‘Dóchas is Grá – Hope and Love’
Ballintubber Abbey Choir – Fundraiser CD
Ballintubber Abbey Choir are delighted to present ‘Dóchas is Grá – Hope and Love’, a beautifully recorded fundraiser CD celebrating faith, music, and community.
This special album features a rich selection of sacred songs and traditional Irish music, thoughtfully chosen to reflect the church calendar year. The collection opens with a heartfelt ‘Message of Hope’ by Fr Frank Fahey, setting a reflective and uplifting tone throughout.
The CD is accompanied by an attractive commemorative booklet, featuring images of the famous “Abbey that refused to die” and its surrounding grounds, making it a meaningful keepsake as well as a musical experience.
Ballintubber Abbey Choir, supported by local sponsorship, have funded this project themselves, ensuring that all proceeds go directly towards the East Wing restoration project match-funding and the ongoing upkeep of this historic Abbey.
Formed in 2012, the choir has grown steadily to its current 30 members, under the direction of Janine Hoban and Maria Spelman. The dream of recording a keepsake album began in 2019 but was paused during the Covid pandemic. Revived last summer, and brought to life with the generous musical guidance of Fr Joe McGuinness (Maynooth), this long-held vision has now become a reality.
A beautiful expression of hope, love, and living heritage, this CD makes a thoughtful gift and a meaningful way to support the future of Ballintubber Abbey.
